Burp team

We are finally getting back into our little family routine.
  • We get home from school and work
  • Make dinner
  • Eat
  • Feed the dogs
  • Cuddle, play, or do something crafty
  • Caitlin takes a bath/shower
  • Read a book and I am a sucker so I usually read a couple
  • Then she goes to bed (and I start laundry, do dishes, pick up barbies and crayons, etc.)
Well, during dinner Caitlin was talking up a storm (like she usually does). She has been asking for Chili dogs for several days and she was so excited to finally have some. I swear that child could survive on hot dogs and yogurt and be happy as could be. She somehow got the huge chili dog in her mouth and had a chili mustache most of dinner.

In the middle of dinner Aaron let out a very loud burp (which if you know my family- sadly that is not an uncommon thing to happen) and Caitlin said
"Daddy can we be the burp team???"
Aaron and I sat there in silence for a minute and realized she was being serious. Oh my goodness, I hope she doesn't do that at school and more importantly what have we done? We have raised her to think burps and farts (or toots as we call them around Caitlin) are hilarious. What do we do now?
My mind began to wonder... first I thought, crap-we are doomed. Then I thought-- awesome, if she burps and farts around boys they won't be interested--- maybe this isn't so bad after all...
then I came back to reality and realized we need to explain again that she shouldn't do that. It was a nice thought for a moment though. I guess I need to learn that my little prissy girl can sometimes be so, umm, tomboyish. Geez.
