THANKSgiving

This is a post that I started a few weeks ago and just could not find time to upload the pictures...
 better late than never.

I LOVE Thanksgiving.

I love everything about it (almost everything- Aaron was out of town working). I love cooking up a storm, eating, getting together with relatives, and Black Friday.

oh, AND I LOVE PIE!!! (I did not take 1 photo of any of the pies- we ate them too quickly and I didn't think about it until it was all gone)

I had the pleasure of having a house full of visitors over the holiday.  We had a blast making sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, asparagus casserole, crock pot corn, M & M cookies, and Heath bar/chocolate chip cookies.

The most memorable part of cooking was the fact that my kitchen is now a new shade of the most beautiful rustic orange you have ever seen. We decided to make double batches of everything but my biggest bowls could barely hold all of the ingredients and the mixer kept spitting yumminess everywhere. I am still finding surprise little bits of sweet potato in random spots in my kitchen.
-Don't worry Vicki, I am not mad. In fact it makes me laugh every time I find some.

The day started out cold... very very cold. It sleeted all morning and we saw the first sign on winter weather on our way out to Uncle Steve and Aunt Donna's house. But I was not going to let a little bit of bad weather ruin my Thanksgiving.

I love getting together with all of the crazy cousins...

and Caitlin LOVES hanging around her cousins too...

We had an awesome time. It was great having so many kiddos around.

This picture made me laugh.

My cousins Adam and Brooke were brave and ran the 5k Turkey Trot that morning. I was so proud of them. They have been working out and training for a few months so I wanted to create something so they could always remember that morning. (The morning of a bitter breeze and freezing rain)

A new way of feeding children...

We (and when I say we I mean myself and Adam) really wanted a family photo. It sucks that Aaron could not be there- especially since this is his side of the family but I am still glad we did it.This is a pic where we are trying to get everyone in the living room.

And here is the final shot...
