Saturday- what a wonderful day for a wedding at the park.

Saturday Caitlin and I attended our 2nd wedding of the summer. (We have 4 more that we are invited to this year). Aaron is out of town again so it was just me and the princess. Caitlin loved this wedding because lots of her 2nd cousins were there. I kind of was dreading another outdoor wedding-- The 1st one we went to was earlier in August and it was 90-100 degrees out. We were drenched in sweat the moment we stepped out of the air conditioned car. We ended up having a ball at JB's wedding and Caitlin and I danced the night away!!

Anyways---the weather ended up being great and this wedding surprised me a few times...

First of all, there was a friendly breeze. It was soooooo nice to have that breeze. I have missed that breeze and have been patiently waiting for it and the fall weather to arrive.

2nd, there was a man dressed in a skirt and a feathered hat. Yes, I said a MAN dressed in a skirt at a wedding. All the kiddos kept asking why he was dressed that way and the only thing I could think of to tell them was it was cooler (temperature wise) to wear a skirt than pants. He ended up being a part of the 3 man band that played the washboard (and fiddle during the actual ceremony), guitar, and accordion. Hmm... maybe that last sentence explains it all.

3rd- This was a wedding of my hubby's cousin (I consider her my cousin too) so, I got to see lots of people that I don't get to see very often. Including Aaron's uncles and grandma. Caitlin was very excited to see her Great- Grandma and even asked her "Do you remember me?" That made me laugh because usually the adults say things like that but Caitlin was very interested in knowing if her G.Gma remembered her.

The wedding was very Miranda-like. She is into the simple things in life. She really is a great woman/mom/cousin and she looked so beautiful and happy.

Lillian- the prettiest flower girl ever

The reception was a pot luck- and boy were there lots of dishes to choose from. I tried to take a little of everything, well everything that was not covered in jalapenos.

Caitlin with her "wedding fan". We purchased fans for the last wedding and they were life savers!!

The bride finally got some food.

Then I got to hang out with Adam (Aaron's cousin) and his wifey Brooke. They are insane and have 4 kiddos. I love those kids. They are so nice and help each other out. Adam and Brooke deserve a standing ovation, most of the time when people have that many kids they are all brats. Not these kids!!! We all sat around and talked and the kids played on the swings/slides for awhile.

They also started to make "dirt pies." Thankfully, there was no water around so they could not turn it into a mud pie!! Caitlin, Isabella, and Gracie collected pine cones, acorns, and leaves for at least an hour. They kept piling them up in front of where all the adults were sitting. Their little minds were running crazy with different stories. It was so great to see Caitlin playing with her cousins.

The trouble makers

We will have to all get together again very soon.

I truly love family. I love my family and all of Aaron's family. I am so blessed.
