I love trying out new (easy) cookie recipes. I found this one that uses a cake mix to make cookies. Yes, I said a cake mix. How awesome is that?!?!
I am going to list ALL of the ingredients you need to make these:
- 1 box of strawberry cake mix
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 egg
- colored sugar sprinkles (I had pink ones in the cabinet so I used pink)
- frosting or almond bark for the white heart (this is completely optional because the cookies are amazing with or without frosting
- A 5 year old helper with WAAAYYY too much energy
So, we mixed the cake mix, butter, and egg together and thought it was going to just be a powdery mess but just as I was getting ready to give up this happened... a big lump of sticky dough.
Caitlin and I rolled them into little balls and then rolled them into the sugar sprinkles.
They look so cute.
Fresh out of the oven!!!
Now comes the FUN part!!! I decorated a few cookies so Caitlin could see what to do.
She loved this part.
In the middle of decorating Caitlin disappeared and she came back with a note made just for me!!
