Halloween costume sneak peek

I LOVE making Caitlin's costumes. I usually start with one piece of clothing and build off of it, but this year I am starting with a homemade tutu and going from there.

This is last years costume- she was a bumble bee.

This year she has decided she wants to be THE TOOTH FAIRY. Last month we watched the Rock's movie (The Tooth Fairy) and Caitlin thought it was so funny so she would not let idea go.
I still have all of the accessories to make but i think the tutu turned out great. It is so fluffy- we love it.

My poor dogs let Caitlin do anything she wants to them...

Friendly Ghosts

I am really behind on this post. ***This actually happened last weekend but we have been extra busy lately and my sinuses have challenged me in an ongoing boxing match.

Here is the creative stuff the little miss and I have been doing lately.

We made Hand Ghosts...

...and feet ghosts.

I had a big piece of cardboard laying around and I wanted to try out my $1 stencil so I tore off a piece and I started painting. Caitlin took it over immediately and did a fantastic job.

When she was finished with the Halloween sign she wanted to paint some more.

Cute flowers!! (Please ignore the dishwasher in the background, I was doing dishes while she painted)

Here is the shelf in the living room. I think I want to paint it a different color because it blends with the wall way too much. But for now it looks fine with all the fun decorations on it.

My fabric pumpkins that I made a few weeks ago. I bought the cat at the Ozark craft fair.

The cute ghosts.

I made this ghost a few weeks ago. I made it before I realized everything in our house is white. When I tried to hang him up all I saw was the eyes and smile. So, he got moved to the bookshelf so he would be visible.

Pumpkin Patch Time!!

I LOVE FALL!!! Ilovefall.Ilovefall.Ilovefall.Ilovefall.Ilovefall.Ilovefall.Ilovefall.Ilovefall.Ilovefall.Ilovefall.Ilovefall.

OK, do you get it... my favorite season is fall. I love when the leaves change colors (that is probably the best part of living in Missouri). I also love wearing jeans, I would wear jeans all summer if I wouldn't have a heat stroke. I love this time of year when you can drive with the windows down and let the wind blow through your hair. I love football season. I love "harvesty" colors, they make me smile. I love everything about fall.

So we decided to go the few miles down the road and go to the pumkin patch. Usually Aaron is out of town and cannot make it to the pumpkin patch but this year he got to go!!

Caitlin and I squealed with joy. He was actually going to pick out pumpkins with us. Hip hip horray!!

There are all kinds of animals at Rutledge Wilson's Farm...

This was one of Caitlin's favorites. She loves bunnies.

She had to carefully inspect EVERY pumpkin. It took awhile to find "the one"

Aaron was very concerned about finding a good pumpkin that had a "strong stem"

I LOVED THIS PUMPKIN!!! But, we decided on more traditional orange ones.

Still searching... it was pretty picked over because we went late in the day.

Family photo with our 2 gorgeous pumpkins

I felt like playing on picknik and this is what I came up with using the free features. When Caitlin saw this she said "I don't remember wearing masks" Bless her little heart. She has so much to learn about computers. :)

The missing moon

Tonight Caitlin and I were leaving Target and she said "Mommy where is the moon?"

We looked and looked for the moon and could not find it we finally decided that it must be hiding behiond the clouds then Caitlin exclaimed "Mom, I know where the moon is! It is probably at Wal-Mart."

So, I guess the moon is taking a lunch break at Wal-Mart. :)

Time is flying by...

Where did the weekend go? I can't believe how quickly the days go by. Everyone has always told me that before I knew it, Caitlin would be grown up. Well, it is happening--- sort of. Right now Caitlin is stuck somewhere in between wanting to be VERY independent and wanting to be a Momma/Daddy's girl.

INDIE EXAMPLE: Every day when we pick her up from school she wants to be a "big Kid" and walk across the parking lot without holding my hand. She always says "Mom, I am a big kid- I don't need to hold her hand. (This is one of our little daily arguments) She always looses the argument, but it continues to be a daily debate.

MOMMA'S GIRL EXAMPLE: Tonight Caitlin would not go to sleep until I rocked her to sleep and sang her lullabyes. I haven't done that in forever!!

My baby keeps having mood swings going back and forth between big kid and little kid. We never know when one of her meltdowns will happen.

If Caitlin is this emotinal at the age of 5, I am scared what life will be like when she is a teenager.

Crafty Saturday has begun...

This morning  Caitlin woke up BRIGHT AND EARLY and the first thing she asked me was "Mom, can we do crafts today?"

My heart instantly melted. Really??? She wants to do crafts with me? HIP HIP HOORAY.

Then my brain went into overdrive... hand/foot ghosts, ghost dogs, rag blankets, Caitlin's Halloween costume, hair bows, Caitydid's coat/backpack hanger, ETC!!!!!

What to do first? Wait- what time does Hobby Lobby open?

I am soooooooooooo excited.

I will leave you with my newest creation that I made earlier this week. My adorable Halloween wreath!!

My creative juices are flowin'

Lately I have been on a craft extravaganza!!! I am determined to make all of my Christmas presents this year. The only present I plan on buying (actually Santa will be buying) is a Barbie dream house!! It has an elevator and makes sounds in every room- I am kind of excited for it! I mean... I am excited that Caitlin will not be playing with her Barbies in every room of the house. Hopefully I will no longer have a miniature high heel stuck in the bottom of my foot because Barbie takes her shoes off the second they are put on.

I haven't decided if I will be posting pics and/or my thoughts and experiences while making these items because I have a whopping 8 followers and I would say most/all of my devoted followers will end up getting something made by myself or Caitlin. ***I know most of you would rather have a Caitlin made item and I can promise ALL 8 FOLLOWERS will get something from Miss Caitlin. If any of my family/friends are reading this and are not currently following my blog--- PLEASE just click on the "Follow" button so I feel a little bit more loved.

At work we have been in a ummm... how do you nicely say we have been going insane??? So yesterday I filled two jars up with skittles and M&Ms and put labels (they were post its, but I didn't have much to work with in the office) on them. Somehow the labels made us smile a little and made the day go by a lot better (or maybe it was just a sugar high). Everyone in the office kept asking me if they could fill their prescription...

The canisters were almost full at the beginning of the day and that is what was left at the end of the day.

Today Caitlin and I had fun playing with chalk and trying to make a new blog header.

I almost used this picture but I decided on a Smile instead.

It's 80s night...

Caitlin had a back to school dance and the theme was... get this... 80s!!! How is that even a theme? I was alive in the 80s. Does that mean I am old now?

I tried to poof her hair and unfortunately she has my thin hair that does not curl or anything and it was pretty flat but she did rock the side ponytail.

Aaron tried teaching Caitlin to say "Cool dude", "Rad" and other G-rated 80s phrases.

We found two tutus and leggings. Leggings were not a problem- she wears them every other day. We also found lots of bracelets and necklaces. Put on lots of blue eyeshadow and blush. And her look is complete with a single white glove (like Michael Jackson)

She immediately found one of her classmates, Kendall.

Kendall inspecting the outfit.

The band- they are in middle school and were really really good. All the girls screamed all night while they played. The girls loved the Justin Beiber haircuts.

A Ghostbuster even came.

These girls made me think of a "cool girl clique" from a bad 80s movie.

Those girls danced ALL NIGHT!! I think Caitlin has found her match.
