Little Miss Cheerleader

Last week Caitlin started her new adventure in cheerleading. I know, she it way too young to actually cheer but this is just teaching her the basics and she is having fun doing it. The girls have the option to cheer at halftime at a Drury basketball game and/or participate in the Christmas parade.

I didn't take any pictures this week. So I will just post the pics from last week. The 1st class they had all ages of girls there. Tonights class she only had 4-6 year olds with her. It made it so mych easier and she didn't feel as overwhelmed.

***There was actually a chili supper and open house prior to the cheerleading class so the first two pics are of us walking to school. We live so close that it is faster to walk than find a parking spot.

My little cutie pie.

My heart was melting watching these two walk home. I LOVE that Aaron carried her pom poms.

Cabin fever

Last week Aaron and I went to Kimberling City and stayed in an awesome cabin. Caitlin got to stay with her Grammie and Poppy- so I am sure she did not miss us at all.

This cabin was awesome because:
1. It was FREE!!! (This is the cabin I won on the radio for Father's day)

2. It was clean

3. There were no little monsters or 4 legged creatures following us around. We could just sit in silence and not hear a little voice screaming music and saying Mommy watch this dance. (I love those moments but sometimes I just need a small break)
4. It was only about a 45 minute drive from home.

5. The campground was pretty much empty

6. The entire cabin (ceiling, walls, furniture, etc) were logs. I love that look- it is so cute.

7. The A/C worked great

8. Everything we needed was provided in the cabin. We usually camp either in a tent or our pop up camper. When we do that we have to haul a bunch of crap down there, set it all up, and then pack it all back up again to come back home. We end up wasting so much time packing and unpacking that we miss out on fun time. Aaron also loved the grill, they didn't just get a cheap grill- they went all out and had a Mega Grill on the patio.

9. Every night there were hundreds of dragonflies in the sky. We could not get a good picture of them but it was amazing how many there were. I have always thought dragonflies were a sign of good luck. I was so excited to see them. I LOVE DRAGONFLIES!!!!

10. We were on vacation. This was the 1st vacation Aaron and I have taken (without Miss Caitlin or the dogs) for at least 5 years.

Sigh... I miss that place.

The first thing that was unpacked. ICE COLD BUD LIGHT.
We made ourselves right at home.

The loft- there were two beds (mattresses) and that was pretty much it up there.

The kitchen is actually a bit larger- I couldn't fit the entire kitchen in the photo.

The fireplace...that did not get used. It would have been a nice feature to have if it were wintertime.

My stupid glasses-this would have been a good pic.

Our view of the boat docks

Our view of part of the lake

My hot hubby

Yes, I am a self-proclaimed dork.

All the roads were named after fish. There was also bass ave and trout road.

Campers cafe... it was a random hillbilly grill in the middle of the campground.

This is one of the best parts of living in the Ozarks- so many big trees. I cannot wait for the leaves to start to change color.

This is for my hubby. He was so excited that "Mr. Roboworm" (I am sure Aaron knows his real name) was staying at our campground.

Our dinner the first night we were there. Yummy kabobs.

We also had grilled red peppers, green beans, and roasted potatoes.

Aaahhhh... finally a good picture of the two of us.

We went to Danna's for lunch the next day. I forgot to take a picture of the amount of food we got. It was delicious and we had so much left over. I could not believe the size of the portions.

Aaron went fishing every morning. I decided to sleep in.

We did do a little flea market shopping while we were in the area. That seems to be the only place I can get Aaron to go shopping. We went to 2 different flea markets and surprise surprise, Aaron was the only one who found anything.

This is one of Aaron's finds to go in his boy room.

We have a flea market rule. If it is under $5 we can buy it if we really want it. If it is over $5 we both have to agree on it. Well, all the stuff I wanted was well over $5 and I didn't want to get permission to buy it.

This sign made me laugh.

This sign made me smile. Aaron says he will make me one of these signs since it was $26 and I refused to pay that much for it.

Aaron liked this and we are going to try to make one (for a lot cheaper than they were trying to sell it)

I had such a good time. It has been way too long since Aaron and I have gotten to hang out with just each other. I had a perma-smile on my face and laughed so much. It reminded me why I married him and why he is my best friend. Just one question, is it time to go on vacation again?

Silly Joshy

So I am a really sarcastic person and I love giving people a hard time. I do feel bad that one of my friends fell victim to this but, he brought it on himself.

Let me start by telling the pre-game story. Josh (or Joshy as Caitlin calls him) told us he went shopping for a new gold shirt to wear to the game and he was soooooo proud of his find. He said he found a $3 boys shirt at Wal-mart. I believed him even though I had some strange thoughts running through my head about how I thought it was a women's tank top. Since he had the entire story of how he found the shirt, I believed him that it was in fact a boys tank.

During the game we kept seeing the coaches wearing vests like this. I believe Josh was going for this type of look with his layering.

During half time I asked Vicki and Matt if they had noticed how feminine Josh's tank top was. After thinking about it for a minute, Vicki agreed with me. We also came to the conclusion that it had a pineapple on the chest (which is not a very manly thing to have on a shirt) and the buttons and collar were also girly.

I held my tongue during the pre-game celebration at the house but I could not help myself when the crew came home from the Mizzou game. So, I said "Josh if I ask you something, do you promise not to get mad?" He agreed and I proceeded with "Are you wearing a woman's shirt?"

He immediately took the shirt off and showed me that the size said 4/6 and S/CH. He was so sure that the shirt said it was a child's size. We carefully explained to him that the "CH" did not mean child it actually was spanish for small on t-shirts. He then kept asking why I would let him go to the game with a woman's shirt on.  I was not 100% sure it was a woman's shirt so I didn't want to say anything because it actually looked pretty good.

THANK YOU JOSH!!!!
You never disappoint. You always make me (and every one else in the room) laugh when we are around you. This was one of those rolling on the floor crying moments that I live for.

I also want to say thanks to my nephew Corey for being a good sport and modeling the shirt for us the next day so we could get one more laugh out of it.

M-I-Z

someone out there has to be saying Z-O-U.

Saturday (Sept 11) I stayed at home with Addison, Vicki, Matt, and Casey while Caitlin went on a date with her Daddy. I could not believe that Matt was staying home. He is one of the most die-hard MU fans that I know. However, I do understand the choice between a bunch of guys throwing a football around and this...

Caitlin was so excited about her daddy/daughter date. She couldn't stop talking about it for the week prior to the game.  And believe it or not, Caitlin LOVES football. So, the perfect date for them was to go to a Mizzou football game. Aaron and Caitlin got all dressed up in their gold shirts (it was Goldrush and everyone had to wear gold). We also put on their tattoos.

Caitlin did not want to move her cheeks because she thought she would mess up the tattoos.

The bow I made for her for the game.

All the kids (oh and Lyndsay)

Best friends...

My hubby and his two favorite guys in the world. Anytime we are around those guys we laugh and laugh and laugh.

Aaron and his beautiful sister Vicki. (She looks way too good for having a baby 5 day old baby)

Josh in the Awesome-mobile

I can hear the swagger wagon music playing as they drive off.

The 3 Musketeers

Mizzou won 50 to 6. I think it was due to the fabulous cheering from the 3 musketeers.
